The KSS AHSN Awards 2020 celebrate healthcare excellence across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Open to all, and with a focus on the collaborations, partnerships and innovations that are helping the region accelerate its response to the Long Term Plan, our awards showcase work that is improving outcomes, experience and value.

This year we have 9 categories:

  5. Excellence in patient safety
  6. Clinical innovator/team of the year
  7. Digital innovation
  8. Workforce initiative of the year
  9. Disruptive innovation

Finalists will be announced in April 2020 and will be invited to the KSS Partnership Day in Brighton on 6 May, where winners will be unveiled and awards presented!

Shortlisting criteria

The shortlisting criteria for all categories will include how the entry shows evidence of: 

  • Successful stakeholder engagement; building and maintaining relationships
  • Service improvement and demonstrable benefit to patients
  • Critical evaluation
  • Evidence based practice
  • Collaborative and innovative ways of working
  • Inclusivity and diversity 
  • How the project will ensure the outcomes achieved will be sustainable and/or spread.
Industry and health & social care partnership

This award will be given to projects that can demonstrate effective and credible collaboration with an ultimate demonstrable benefit to patients.

This is an outstanding opportunity to celebrate the role of collaborative working in industry, health and social care.

Entry criteria: entries to the industry and health & social care collaboration award are welcomed from all industry, care providers or social care (acute, community, primary, mental health, independent sector, care homes, commissioners), who can clearly demonstrate the input and effect of excellent collaborative working.  

Health and social care integration

This award will be given to projects that can demonstrate effective and credible health and social care integration with an ultimate demonstrable benefit to patients.

This is an outstanding opportunity to celebrate the role of integrated working within health and social care.

Entry criteria: entries to the health and social care integration award are welcomed from all industry, care providers or social care (acute, community, primary, mental health, independent sector, care homes, commissioners), who can clearly demonstrate the input and effect of excellent collaborative working.  

User-led design collaboration

This award will be given to projects that can demonstrate effective and credible co-creation or user led design with an ultimate demonstrable benefit to patients.

This is an outstanding opportunity to celebrate the role of co-creation and user led design within health and social care.

Entry criteria: entries to the co-creation / user led design award are welcomed from all industry, care providers or social care (acute, community, primary, mental health, independent sector, care homes, commissioners), who can clearly demonstrate the input and effect of excellent collaborative working.  

Applied research into practice

This award will be given to projects that can demonstrate effective and credible application of research within practice, with an ultimate demonstrable benefit to patients.

This is an outstanding opportunity to celebrate the role of research within health and social care.

Excellence in patient safety

This award will be given to projects that can demonstrate effective and credible improvements to patient safety with an ultimate demonstrable benefit to patients.

Clinical innovator/team of the year

This award will be given to projects that can demonstrate effective and credible clinical innovation with an ultimate demonstrable benefit to patients.
