New appointments at KSS AHSN

We are delighted to announce that Des Holden has been appointed as KSS AHSN’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Des has been acting Managing Director for the past year and played a vital role in leading the organisation through internal and system support challenges of COVID-19, while developing a plan for post-pandemic growth.

Des will be continuing in this role substantively, albeit with a slight change in job title that better reflects similar positions across the AHSN Network.

Des will continue to provide support as Medical Director in the interim, and the board is looking at how this function can be best delivered in the future.

The change comes following Guy Boersma’s decision to step down as Managing Director and accept a new role as KSS AHSN’s Strategy Development Director.

This position, which is very much in line with Guy’s career development ambitions, will see him seeking out and developing potential and early-stage strategic collaborations with a range of regional and national partners.

Commenting on the appointments, David Clayton-Smith, Chair of KSS AHSN, said:

“This is an exciting time for KSS AHSN as we continue to work ever closer with our ICSs.

“I’d like to thank Guy for the substantial contribution he has made as MD and wish both him, and Des, all the best in their new roles.”
