Health Innovation KSS has published the Innovator Guide to Health Equity, for innovators who are developing new solutions for use in the health and social care system.

The guide builds on our Ten Principles of Health Equity, which were developed by the organisation, led by our Chief Medical Officer, Dr MaryAnn Ferreux, to ensure that we consider health equity in all our decision-making. Health equity is the goal to enable all people the opportunity to achieve their optimal level of health and the ten principles are based on latest best practice and evidence that has been proven to be supportive in promoting health equity.

“Health equity is about ensuring everyone gets the support they need. It is vital that innovators consider health equity when developing their innovation but it is a complex area and it can be hard to know where to start. This guide takes you through the process and helps you to think about health equity at every stage, from designing and developing your innovation, to evaluating and implementation. Embedding health equity in your innovation will increase the chances of its success and ensure everyone will benefit from it.” – Dr MaryAnn Ferreux.

The aim of this guide is to help innovators consider the ways in which their innovations can be designed, developed and implemented to help achieve health equity. It provides clear guidance and recommendations across all ten principles, as well as links to useful resources.
