On 20 October 2025, Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex hosted a well-attended webinar spotlighting Credo Therapies’ digital programme-led treatment for binge eating. The session brought together over 70 professionals, including eating disorder clinicians, academics, and commissioners, to explore the potential of Digital CBTe – an innovative digital version of Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E).

The webinar featured insights from clinicians at North East London Foundation NHS Trust and Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, who shared their experiences implementing Digital CBTe across services in Kent & Medway and Dorset. Their reflections highlighted the programme’s clinical benefits, including reductions in binge eating episodes and improvements in patients’ quality of life.

Developed by the Centre for Research on Eating Disorders at Oxford (CREDO) and now delivered by social impact company Credo Therapies Ltd, Digital CBTe was evaluated through two pilot projects funded by NHS England and the Office for Life Sciences. Supported by Health Innovation KSS and Health Innovation Wessex, the pilots explored both self-help and guided self-help formats of the digital programme.

The evaluation findings suggest that Digital CBTe could offer a scalable, accessible treatment option for individuals with binge eating disorder across diverse healthcare settings.

“It was inspiring to hear directly from clinicians in Kent & Medway and Dorset about how Digital CBTe is making a difference in real-world settings. Their insights brought the evaluation findings to life and highlighted the potential of this digital therapy to support people living with binge eating. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—and for those who couldn’t attend, I strongly encourage you to watch the recording and explore how this approach could benefit your service.” – Becca Randell, Mental Health Lead, Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex
