Following the success of the first series of webinars, Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex and NHS Sussex are hosting a second series of learning and development sessions on population health and health inequality led by experts on population health and available free for anyone in the system to attend.

The Sussex Population Health Academy equips staff to improve population health. As part of this, the academy is running system-wide training sessions which aim to empower staff to better understand health inequalities, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes across Sussex.

The first series consisted of three webinars which reached 391 individuals from 96 organisations across the system. The webinars received positive feedback from participants, emphasising the importance of flexibility, listening, and regular community engagement in addressing health inequalities.

Following the popularity of the first series, Health Innovation KSS and NHS Sussex are launching a second series of webinars to be delivered by experts. There will be five webinars in the series:

Webinar 1: Cultural Competency in healthcare: bridging the divide​

Date: Thursday 24th October 2024, 10am – 12pm

Hear from experts on integrating cultural competency and inclusive communication in healthcare and learn how to implement strategies for engaging vulnerable populations in an inclusive way.

Webinar 2: Quality Improvement in Population Health​

Date: 21st November 2024, 10am – 12pm​

Enhance healthcare quality by co-producing solutions and refining clinical practices.​ Learn how to engage stakeholders in designing equitable health interventions through QI​

Webinar 3: Using data for better health outcomes​

Date: 22nd January 2025, 10am – 12pm​

Learn how to leverage data and digital tools to address health disparities and reduce health gaps.

Webinar 4: Equitable Commissioning: advancing Population Health practices​

Date: 26th February 2025, 10am – 12pm​

Learn how to embed equity in commissioning by addressing systemic barriers and financial access.​

Webinar 5: Case Studies in Operational Excellence: Lessons from leaders​

Date: 26th March 2025, 10am – 12pm​

Learn from successful initiatives that built inclusive infrastructure and addressed local issues​.​
