A collaborative of Health Innovation Networks has produced a comparison table to help health and care providers choose an Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) provider that suits their needs.

Compiled as a joint initiative between Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex, Health Innovation Wessex, and Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, it was created in response to requests from people working in health and social care asking which ambient scribe they should use.

As a Health Innovation Network, we cannot recommend any one provider, but we can help by showing what is available and where we have carried out independent evaluations.

The information grid lists ambient scribes registered with the MHRA as Class 1 medical devices.

For each scribe, it details –

  • Company information
  • Evaluation and data security information
  • Examples of where it is already used, integration and partnerships
  • Cost models

It is not a definitive list. More providers are constantly registering with the MHRA, as this is a fast-paced, growing market. We will update the grid regularly. To keep up to date with AVT news from our team, sign up to our AVT Alerts mailing list.

In separate but related news,  NHSE is set to launch a self-certified registry for the use of AI-enabled ambient scribing products in health and care settings. It has not shared a publication date, but it is expected in December 2025.
