It features insights from two Youth Summits held with young people and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving services and pathways for young adults. “This user-friendly guide empowers adult mental health clinicians to bridge the gap between children and adult mental health services, offering practical strategies and evidence-based approaches to engage young people who may be struggling to access support to help. The guide provides valuable insight on how to make a difference to the lives of young people experiencing mental health issues through engagement, early intervention, effective treatments and digital innovation.” – Becca Randell, Mental Health Lead, Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex. “As a community psychiatrist, I know how rewarding it can be working with young adults and how important it can be to give people the right help in a way that is flexible, realistic and person-centred. This guide gives some great ideas about how that help can be best delivered. By drawing on the experiences of people using services, this guide gives a very credible and practical approach for clinicians, and I am very happy to recommend it to colleagues.” – Dr Oliver Dale, Consultant Psychiatrist, Chief Medical Officer, Sussex Partnership NHS FT. “I’m delighted to support this important guide about providing mental health support to young adults. We need to do everything possible within our local communities to raise awareness about mental health issues, challenge stigma and discrimination, and encourage young people to seek help and support at the earliest opportunity” – Dr Jane Padmore (RMN), Chief Executive Officer, Chief Executive at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Download the guide here For more information please contact our Mental Health lead, Becca Randell.
